In 2004 I was invited to contribute to a group exhibition entitled Captured Moments, held in a gallery in Port Noarlunga just outside Adelaide. I used this opportunity to exhibit some of my street photography, a genre close to my heart. Over the years, photographing strangers in the street has become problematic as people are more media savvy and conscious of cameras everywhere. Some things haven’t changed, though. Discretion and respect for the subject are paramount when pursuing what Henri Cartier-Bresson called “the decisive moment”.
