For many years I preferred to work in black-and-white. One of the main reasons was the control that came from processing the film and printing the photographs myself. With the arrival of the digital age and the acquisition of a quality scanner and printer, I began revisiting old colour photographs. These are mostly in the form of transparencies that were filed away and, for the most part, rarely looked at. Rediscovering them has been an enjoyable process. These photographs were taken during the same period as the black-and-white images that can be seen in the category, ‘Postcards from forgotten places’.
